Pranayama (Breathwork)

Pranayama is an ancient yogic practice that involves breathing in specific ways and intervals to calm the body and mind.

In Sanskrit, “prana” means life energy, and “yama” means control. So we connect with our life force energy as we consciously regulate the breath.

Pranayama has many physical, mental, and spiritual benefits. During pranayama, you consciously change your breathing pattern. These practices have a therapeutic effect and reduce stress, anxiety, and anger. In addition, pranayama regulates our blood pressure, improves our sleep, improves our respiratory function, and improves our immune system.

Here are some exercises you can try!

4-4-4-4 breathing is a great way to relax and improve your focus.

4,7,8 breathing will reduce your anxiety and stress almost instantly. Try and do up to 10 breaths.

Belly breathing is a great way to relax and connect with your life force energy. I recommend doing this exercises in Shavasana (lying flat on your back).
